Marketplace expert Martin Schade joins XPLN

18 January, 2022

As of the beginning of 2022, experienced brand and marketplace expert Martin Schade joines XPLN as Vice President Product.

After ending his career as a Bundeswehr officer, Martin Schade switched to the world of e-commerce 10 years ago. There, he began his career at the full-service agency for online stores Fortuneglobe, which supports and technically develops the platforms Zalando and AboutYou. In the process, he was co-responsible for the integration of the first major brands on these platforms.

After moving to the current Zalando subsidiary Tradebyte, Martin Schade worked there for several years in changing operational and strategic roles, supporting the management team.

Valuable know-how on the connectivity, data structures and special features of marketplaces

Tradebyte is the leading fashion & lifestyle integrator for digital retail platforms in Europe. As such, Tradebyte enables brands and retailers to enter the D2C business. At Tradebyte, Martin Schade was active on both the platform and brand side: As a product manager, he managed channels such as eBay, Zalando, Amazon, AboutYou, Spartoo, and Priceminister; while building up the integration team, he gathered valuable know-how on the connectivity, data structures and special features of the marketplaces. He was subsequently able to apply this knowledge specifically in the product area and, together with a team of product and application managers, further developed the integration platform, especially for the needs of large brands.

“We are very pleased to welcome Martin Schade to our team. With his diverse experience in the marketplace and software business, he brings valuable know-how to strategically develop our product to the next level and to even better tailor it to the needs of large brands,” said XPLN Managing Director Sebastian Klumpp.

At XPLN, Martin Schade will primarily be responsible for expanding the product area of the market analytics software company. “I am very excited about this new challenge and the opportunity to help XPLN leap into the future with this very good foundation and a great team,” he says.

Martin Schade lives in Nuremberg and is the father of a daughter. In addition to his professional work, he actively engages in the organization “TreePlantingProjects“, for which he organizes regional tree planting events.
